The first Cork Women's Mini Marathon took place in 1981. The event, Munster's premier 4-mile road race, has grown to become one of the biggest sporting participation events outside Dublin and succeeds in attracting women of all ages and abilities. The Evening Echo have been title sponsors since the inception of the race, and its role is to assist with administration, advertise and promote the event.

The race is run over four miles, starting at the city end of Centre Park Road, and taking in The Marina, Blackrock Village, Ballintemple, Maryville, Monahan Road and finishing in Kennedy Park (The Boggy). Please see map below for details of the 4-mile course.
